How They’re Different

The regions in Virginia have a variation of salinity ranges from low salinity 5-12ppt, medium salinity 12-20ppt  and to a high salinity over 20ppt.  With this variation everyone will be able to find an oyster that will satisfy your palate. The aquaculture oysters in Virginia grow at a fast pace with a consistent size and shape that are available year round.
